I tried puppy yoga in London – here’s why it should be on your 2025 bucket list – Ines Santos

I’d heard countless people raving about yoga with puppies, but I couldn’t imagine how it would work. How could anyone focus on yoga with puppies everywhere? I was right – but that’s exactly what made it the best experience ever.

Pets Yoga offers a rotating variety of breeds, and even the occasional kitten or bunny. The breed selection depends on which breeders or families are partnering with them at the time.

When I booked, Cocker Spaniels, Shih Tzus, Pomskies, and Golden Retrievers were all on offer. I chose Cocker Spaniels, and they were cuter than I could have imagined!

Each session lasts an hour, with two short yoga segments in the middle of free play with the puppies. Trying to concentrate on yoga while pups nibble and play is the cutest challenge.

Each class timing is perfectly planned to catch puppies when they’re full of energy. The Cocker Spaniel siblings were eagerly waiting for us inside a cosy fenced area.

Some puppies are high-energy, playing with toys and each other, using our yoga mats as their playground. It’s super cute just to observe them, especially if they decide to play on top of you.

Others are calmer, happy to snuggle on your lap and relax, sharing a peaceful moment. Staff ensure every guest has quality time with each puppy, so if they stay on your lap for a long time, they rotate them as needed.

They tugged at my socks, nibbled my ears, stole my phone tripod, and wrestled right as I tried to hold a yoga pose – and I loved every second of it. Honestly, it’s the most calming and wholesome activity I’ve done in London; you leave the session feeling amazing!

With plenty of time to interact, you experience the pups’ energy shift from playful to sleepy, getting the best of both worlds in an hour. The yoga sessions are relaxed and accessible for all levels.

Occasional bathroom breaks happen, but staff promptly anticipate their needs and clean up after them, so you don’t have to worry about it.

Starting at £35, it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. Bookings reveal the secret location a few days before – adding to the fun of this one-of-a-kind experience!
