Romantic drama We Live in Time, starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield in the lead roles, is released in cinemas today (Wednesday, January 1).
The movie promises to be a real tear-jerker as the characters of Almut and Tobias battle the trials and tribulations that life throws at them both.
The actress shocked the world when she debuted her shaved head at the Met Gala in May last year.
However, little did her fans know that she had in fact cut all her hair off for her role in We Live in Time, as her character is battling cancer, as per what the trailer reveals.
Ahead of the film’s release, the actress revealed how she felt about having the haircut and what kind of response it triggered inside of her.

She told British Vogue: “In many religions, hair is the most precious thing on the body – it’s where you store your memories and your dreams and your history. (Shaving) it was really bizarre.
“My head was so sensitive and so many people were trying to touch it and it was so alive. My body went into a bit of trauma from it. I was cold all the time.”
In a pivotal scene in the film, Andrew’s character Tobias is actually the one to shave Almut’s hair off, which he admitted he was nervous about.
He expressed: “What if I somehow destroyed the head of one of the best actors of her generation?
“It was terrifying, but ultimately it was a very beautiful, intimate scene to shoot and thank God she has such a nicely shaped melon.”
Florence went on to reveal that the role came at the right time of her life and changing her hairstyle helped shed her thoughts about life at the time.

She also wanted to ditch the glamorous Hollywood image and really get stuck into what the character was going through.
She continued: “I was going through so many (aesthetic) iterations when I was also going through life decisions.”
“I was like, ‘Cool, well I don’t look like me. I’m changed. I’m changing.’ Looking back on that summer, I was growing into a new thing.”
With it now being more than a year and a half since she shaved her off, Florence’s hair has grown back as she’s been seen showing off a new bob hairstyle at the various film’s promotional events.
