The heartbroken dad of an “adored” 17-year-old who died in a car crash has issued an emotional plea. Max Greenhouse died in a collision in Aughton, a village in West Lancashire between Ormskirk and Maghull.

Max Greenhouse, who was a passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries after the car left the carriageway and crashed with a farm building on Fir Tree Lane shortly after 9pm on Wednesday, December 11.

The 17-year-old was taken to hospital but died a short time later. Paying tribute after the incident, his family said: “Our beautiful boy, so much charisma and charm with a zest for life.

“Truly adored by all of your family and friends. Our hearts are broken, can’t believe we will never see your beautiful smiling face again. You will live on forever in our hearts.

“Max, you touched every heart with your genuine kindness, love and happiness. Never a bad word to say about anyone and we have been truly touched by the amount of tributes from your friends who have said that you were always there to help and support them through difficult times.

“We have been overwhelmed by the amount of people who knew you even from afar. You have had an impact on so many people’s lives. We are so proud Max to call you our son. Rest in peace Angel. Forever 17. Sleep tight our precious son and brother.”

Three other teenagers, all boys, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Floral tributes and messages were left in memory of Max, including Liverpool FC scarves.

In a new update, Max’s dad Andrew has asked Liverpool supporters to applaud in the 17th minute of Sunday’s game (January 5) at Anfield against Manchester United in memory of his son. In a post on X/Twitter, he posted a picture of Max when he was younger wearing a Liverpool t-shirt and bucket hat against a sea of red scarves.
