Coronation Street fans have been left convinced Ken Barlow (William Roache) will marry Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) marking his fifth wedding.
In recent episodes of the ITV soap, schemer Cassie has been targeting Ken including poisoning him after putting medication in his tea. She was almost caught out as Ken suffered a health scare as a result and was rushed to hospital.
But it was Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) that was blamed for the incident while Ken appears to enjoy having Cassie around.
During Monday’s trip to Weatherfield (December 30), Cassie burst into tears leaving Ken concerned for his friend. She soon claimed she was upset because she’d racked up a credit card debt buying Christmas presents for her family.

Cassie told Ken she was keeping it a secret from her loved ones, but was struggling to pay what she owed.
Ken decided to help Cassie out telling her he’d give her a temporary loan that she could pay back to him. Later in the episode, Amy (Elle Mulvaney) was concerned when her grandfather told her everything.
As she questioned the loan she was seen pulling a face, clearly not convinced by his or Cassie’s story. But as Ken is blindsided by Cassie, some Corrie fans think Ken will pop the question to keep Cassie around, and she will agree to get her hands on his money.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: “Ken proposes, Cassie accepts?” While a second exclaimed: “Marriage?”
A third chimed in: “Cassie and Ken in #Corrie , I wonder if they’ll marry, initially for the wrong reasons and then she’ll actually be in it for the right reasons? Either way, buy shares in Viagra or other “firming” drugs!”
