An award-winning Birmingham bar is taking a ‘well-deserved break’ and will be closed for the entire month of January. Since opening nine years ago, the Jewellery Quarter venue has picked up numerous awards and was even named the ‘best gin bar in the world’.
Located on Cox Street, 40 St Paul’s is a bar that might just serve the best gin and tonic in Birmingham In 2019, 40 St Paul’s was named ‘Best Gin Bar in the World’ in the Icons of Gin Awards.
Unsurprisingly, gin is perhaps what the bar is best known for and they regularly hold gin tasting events as well as gin, cheese and chocolate nights. Outside of gin, 40 St Paul’s has a cocktail menu which rotates every week.

After nine years of serving the Jewellery Quarter community and beyond, 440 St Paul’s announced it would be closed until February. On Instagram. 40 St Paul’s said: “Just so you know, we’re closing until February.

“Been doing this for nine years now (nine years and two weeks) and we’re ready to have some time to reflect and enjoy. Hopefully, see you soon.” There is no specific date for when the bar will reopen but fans have supported owner Amanjot Johl on the break.
Alex Carr responded: “Enjoy your well-deserved break” Conrad Brunton added: “So well deserved buddy.” Neil Walker said: “Great to catch you before you closed. Have a great break.”
And another Instagram user wrote: “Enjoy your break”.
