I’m a Celeb star GK Barry surprises viewers in Netflix show cameo

Viewers have spotted an unexpected cameo in Harlan Coben’s latest Netflix series, ‘Missing You’. The new thriller series follows detective Kat Donovan, who is unsettled to discover her estranged ex-partner on a dating app, who left her 11 years prior without a trace.

As she dives into the mystery in an attempt to uncover what happened, questions surrounding her dad’s death also come to light. But viewers might have been distracted from the plot line after an unlikely star appeared in the first episode.

Content creator and podcast host GK Barry, real name Grace Keeling, shocked viewers after she was featured in scenes during first episode of the show. The 25-year-old recently appeared on ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, and now it seems more TV work is in her future.

In the episode, her character is seen under a blanket, as a voiceover says, “I dream of you. Kissing you. Holding You. The feel of your skin against mine. I love you.” Many viewers had to do a double take as they couldn’t quite believe Keeling was on their screens.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Keeling revealed that someone from the show reached out. “They approached my manager and said, ‘We’re doing this new Netflix show, and we’d love Grace to be a little part in it.’ And I thought, ‘Well, I’m not going to say no.’

“So we got on a call, and they were explaining who my character was, and it made me laugh so much because it’s very on brand.” She added that her character is (spoiler alert) a “foot cam girl”.

Filming took place in September 2024, over one day in Manchester. “They gave me a brief outline of what it was about and read me the line up of [people] involved and I thought, ‘I absolutely will do that’.

“I just wanted to do it because I thought it was kind of iconic. I want to build the CV up so my parents cannot moan about anything! I would do [more acting], like ‘The Office’ vibes, or something that doesn’t involve tense acting. I couldn’t do ‘Game of Thrones.'”

Keeling isn’t the only surprise cameo on the show. Comedian Lenny Henry, Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa Faulkner, musician and TV personality Matt Willis, are all featured throughout the show.

Missing You is available on Netflix now.
