A man is in hospital after being stabbed in a broad daylight Ilford attack. Met Police officers raced to a home in Ilford Lane, East London, at around 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, January 1) to reports of a stabbing.
There they found the victim – a man in his 20s – who’d been stabbed. A 38-year-old man was later arrested at a home in Romford. He is still in custody on Thursday morning (January 2).
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 4.05pm on Wednesday, January 1, to reports of a stabbing in Ilford Lane. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man aged in his 20s suffering from stab injuries.
“He was taken to an East London hospital where his injuries were deemed to be non life-threatening. At about 7.30pm, a 38-year-old man was arrested at a residential address in Romford. He has been taken to an East London police station where he remains in custody. Enquiries continue.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.05pm yesterday (Wednesday, January 1) to reports of a stabbing incident in Ilford Lane, IG1. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, a member of our Tactical Response Unit and London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first of our crews arrived in two minutes. Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road, as a priority.”
