Three stabbed in separate incidents in London on New Year’s Day

This only includes incidents that Newsquest London is aware of and has reported on.

The incidents unfolded yesterday (January 1) in Westminster, Ilford and Brixton.

Information about each incident is from the Metropolitan Police.

Man in his 20s taken to hospital after stabbing in Ilford

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Ilford.

The incident happened in Ilford Lane near Winston Way just after 4pm on January 1.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man who had been stabbed.

He was taken to an east London hospital where his injuries were assessed as non life-threatening.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident at a residential address in Romford.

He has been taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.

Boy, 17, fighting for life in hospital after stabbing in Brixton

A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after a stabbing in Brixton.

The incident happened at the junction of Ferndale Road and Brixton Road at around 5.47am on January 1.

Officers attended the scene and provided emergency first aid to the boy before the arrival of paramedics from the London Air Ambulance.

The Met confirmed the victim was taken to hospital where his injuries are being treated as life-threatening.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

Man, 25, taken to hospital after stabbing in Oxford Street

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital after stabbing in Oxford Street.

Police were called to reports of men “armed with knives” near Bond Street Tube station at 4.04am on January 1.

The man was found injured by police at the junction of Oxford Street and South Molton Street.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as not life threatening.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.
