Police issue appeal after dog killed in crash outside popular country park

Police have issued an urgent appeal after a dog was killed in a collision outside a popular country park. West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses following the New Year’s Day crash outside Queenswood Country Park.

Officers said a car collided with a dog just after 2:45pm on January 1 on the A49. Sadly the dog died at the scene as a result of “serious injuries.”

The crash took place outside of Queenswood Country Park, a popular green space in Hereford which is popular with dog walkers and families. A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A49 Dinmore Hill outside of Queenswood Country Park.

“The collision happened at around 2.45pm yesterday (1 January) and involved a Nissan Note in Blue, which collided with a dog. Unfortunately, the dog suffered serious injuries and passed away at the scene.
