A new Middle Eastern restaurant is set to open in Birmingham, replacing an Italian that customers described as ‘the best’. Located on Hagley Road, Soofi Persian Restaurant is replacing Fogo Bar & Kitchen which closed last year in Edgbaston.
In the months before Fogo Bar and Kitchen closed, the Italian restaurant had announced a collaboration with the chain Wing Shack Co. Now specialising in Persian/Iranian cuisine, Soofi’s menu includes Iranian tea and desserts from the Middle East.
Soofi Persian Restaurant will open on January 3 and details are limited. What is known is that Soofi will be halal and launch with a grand opening planned at 12pm.

And one reviewer commented: “Genuinely one of the best Italian restaurants I have eaten this year! On a par with Fiume in Wolverhampton. A lovely, intimate place with a very high standard of food. Beautifully presented.
“The chef was happy to customise dishes on the menu to cater for the kids and vegetarians too. A hidden gem in Birmingham!”
