A motorist has been fined after driving around in the dark with a ladder sticking out of their boot. Stunned officers stopped the driver of this Seat Leon who thought there was nothing wrong with the ladder dragging behind along the carriageway.
To make matters worse, the load was not even secured to the vehicle. The driver was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice and the ladders were removed.
Lancs Specialist Ops Police posted about the incident which happened on Dec 27, in the Brierfield area of Lancashire.

The case sparked a load of half jokey comments online. Laura Lee posted: “Well that was a step too far.”
