BBC The Traitors changes rules for final as former winner says ‘driving me mad’

The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has revealed a major twist to the big finale of the new series. The hit BBC show has returned for its third series, much to the joy of viewers.

But former winner Harry Clark has spoken out as changes to the end of this year’s show were revealed – and he isn’t happy. Claudia dropped a major bombshell on how the finale will differ notably from prior seasons in the first episode of 2025.

After selecting Armani, Minah, and Linda as the Traitors, she outlined new strategies for pocketing the winnings, saying: “But winning the money is going to require even more smarts than ever this year. Listen carefully.”

She went on to explain that those making it to the final stretch will keep their true colours secret upon exiting – leaving players solely dependent on gut feelings to suss out any remaining Traitors. Historically, the gameplay would halt once all contenders unanimously decided there were no Traitors left, triggering a final vote that determined whether the cash pot went to the Traitors or Faithfuls, with their identities laid bare.

Previous winner Harry Clark told RadioTimes.com the change would give one of the groups a big advantage. He said: “It’s driving me mad! They’ve made it easier for Traitors to win.

“The reason why this has got on my back so much is because in my series you had to reveal if you were a Traitor or a Faithful. That meant people knew that there was still a Traitor in the game.

“So if there’s five of you at the end, everyone knows that one of them five has to be a Traitor, so you can just keep going and keep throwing the fire pit until you get the one Traitor at least. There may be two, there may be three, but there has to be one.”
