BBC The Traitors viewers stunned by ‘unnecessary’ moment minutes into new episode

The Traitors fans are already left puzzled over a ‘completely unnecessary scene’ just minutes into the second episode which is set to air tonight (January 2). The much-loved reality gameshow has made a triumphant return to our TV screens just in time for the New Year, with the second instalment scheduled to air on Thursday evening.

However, eager fans who simply can’t wait can already stream it on iPlayer. Viewers who have had an early peek have voiced their thoughts on one surprising moment that occurs just minutes into the show.

This comes as the Traitors are locked in debate over which of the Faithfuls should be next for the chop. The first episode already delivered a jaw-dropping twist when three contestants were left stranded before they even reached the castle, having sacrificed themselves and exited the game prematurely by leaving the train before its final stop.

In the opening moments of episode two, following the series’ first banishment, the Traitors are back at it, deliberating over who they believe should be the next victim. They whittle it down to three Faithfuls whose exit they think could most benefit their strategy, reports Wales Online.

The Traitors viewers were thrown for a loop when 20 year old Politics student Freddie from Peterborough was unexpectedly seen in the shower. As the game heated up and discussions among the Traitors took centre stage, images of the Faithfuls, who were supposed to be at their hotels, flashed on the screen.

First was Keith honing his martial arts skills, then Leanne assessing her reflection. .et it was the sight of Freddie under the water that set social media alight, with fans voicing their confusion and amusement.

Memories of his earlier statement in the series about aspiring to be “the first Black prime minister” led to humorous quips online, with tweets like “‘I’d like to be the first Black prime minister’ ‘k babe, can we get a shower shot.'”.

Others questioned why the scene was included at all, posting remarks such as “Why was there just a completely unnecessary shot of a man showering in The Traitors? ” While some debated the necessity of the steamy moment, a few expressed their appreciation cheekily, with comments like “Not the shower scene already omg noooo. I mean, absolutely gorgeous material, but such a betrayal if he’s out already.”
