Fans of ‘Gavin and Stacey’ are in with the chance to win Robert Wilfort’s autographed finale script in a charity raffle. The fundraiser on peoplesfundraising.com has seen 1544 eager fans purchase tickets, all hoping to snag the “once in a lifetime” memorabilia donated by the actor who plays Jason West.
The initiative has already raised £17,450.00 for The Theatre Shed, a Chesham- and Amersham-based inclusive theatre group that promotes access to performing arts for everyone. The coveted script boasts signatures from all the main cast, including creators James Corden and Ruth Jones, as well as director Christine Gernon.
On the fundraising page, Robert expressed his excitement: “I’m delighted to donate a copy of the script for the 2024 finale of ‘Gavin and Stacey’, signed on the set by all the main cast members and the director, to this raffle. All proceeds from this prize draw will go to the charity The Theatre Shed, an inclusive theatre group that believes all young people should have access to the performing arts.”
The Gavin and Stacey finale aired on Christmas Day with over 12 million watching
Encouraging participation, he added: “£5 per ticket, the more tickets you buy the better chance you have of winning! This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get a unique piece of ‘Gavin and Stacey’ memorabilia whilst knowing your donation will help this wonderful charity continue its vital work.”
The lucky winner will be drawn on Monday, January 13, at 10.30am. You can enter the draw at this link for £5 per ticket.
The 47 year old star celebrated New Year’s Eve by raffling off a signed photograph of the cast from the popular BBC One sitcom, which follows the tumultuous relationship between Gavin (Mathew Horne) and Stacey Shipman (Joanna Page), as well as their family and friends. The proceeds from this were donated to his local school, Chiltern Hills Academy.
Robert has consistently posted videos on his Instagram account, where he has “shamelessly” stated that if fans send him a direct message with proof that they have purchased raffle tickets, shown through a screenshot, he will follow them back.
