Lloyds customers have been warned they could be denied services in-branch. The banking giant has been forced to respond to frantic customer queries and questions via Twitter, now X, as the Cost of Living crisis continues in the UK.
“Just went to my local @LloydsBank to update some details and was told in no uncertain terms that I couldn’t do it without my debit card, which I didn’t, but the website says different,” a customer asked. “Which is correct please?”
Lloyds replied: “Hi, I’m Delina. Thanks for getting in touch. You would need to take proof of ID and address. You can find more details here on what we would accept.” Nadia replied: “Hi Delina, I took the ID specified in the link you provided and was told that I needed to have my debit card as proof of ID for any transactions, so just to confirm, I was advised incorrectly?”
