London Dungeon offers ex-couples ‘spine chilling’ divorce experience in the dock

From Halloween to Christmas, whatever holiday it is – you can bet your bottom dollar that London Dungeon has a special event planned around it. It is a universal fact that the first working Monday of the year, in this case January 6, is known as ‘National Divorce Day’ – when the highest number of divorce applications are lodged after all the trials and tribulations of the festive period.

In honour of this momentous day, London Dungeon is offering couples a unique divorce experience in its terrifying court in front of an insane 19th-century judge. Throughout the week of Monday, January 6, to Friday, January 10, partners driven to despair over the Christmas period can volunteer their beloved for a brutal grilling from the attraction’s judge within a spine-chilling ambience, guaranteed to have them clinging onto each other for dear life.

Forget the ‘no fault system’ – ex-lovers desperate to point the finger can push for transportation or the gallows as they bid to settle scores. The offer will be open to ten couples throughout the week of Monday, January 6, to Friday, January 10, and both partners must come together. To enjoy this unique experience, simply say ‘your-fault divorce’ to entrance staff and gain free entry

A spokesperson for the London Dungeon said: “After a season of forced cheer and family feuds, we thought, why not help those most in need start the new year with a bang… of our mallet! And what better place to untangle your matrimonial mess than in the eerie depths of the London Dungeon this Divorce Day?”

Divorce lawyers have been booked and busy since 1533 when Henry VIII introduced divorce to society. Last year saw many high-profile celebrities continuing the trend, including Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, and Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling.
