Man dies after falling from block of flats in Bow

A man has died after falling “from height” at a block of flats in Bow this afternoon (Friday, January 3). A cordon and road closures remain in place at the scene.

Emergency services pronounced the man, in his 30s, dead at the scene after being called to Gillender Street at around 2.20pm this afternoon. His family have been made aware and are being supported by police.

The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious at this stage, say the Met. However, their enquiries continue.

A police cordon and road closures remain in place on Gillender Street. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service said: “Police and ambulance colleagues were called at 14:21hrs on Friday, 3 January, to Gillender Street, E3.

“A man had fallen from height at a block of flats. Sadly, the man – aged in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The family of the man have been made aware and police are supporting them.
