Joan Meredith
Joan Meredith, of Oswaldtwistle, sadly passed away aged 91.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas, mother to Catherine, David, Andrew and daughter-in-law Lorna.
Grandmother to Adam, Jack, Georgia, Megan, Lauren, Luke and Gemma. Joan was born in Stanhill Village and has spent all her life in Oswaldtwisle.
As well as bringing up three children she was a market stall holder for many years.
A staunch member of St Mary’s Church she took much comfort in her faith.
A keen baker, who enjoyed walking and visiting friends and family.
During her latter months she was a popular resident at Pendle Brook Care Home.
Longtime member of the Royal British Legion and Blind Society, she led a full and active life.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 14, at 10am at St Mary’s Church, Oswaldtwistle, followed by burial at Dill Hall Cemetery 11.30am.

Joyce Pilkington
Joyce Pilkington nee Wearden died at Springhill Care Home, Accrington on Friday, December 20, aged 88 years.
Beloved wife of the late Raymond, dear mother of Beverley, Julie and Philip and mother-in-law of Steven and a devoted grandma, great grandma and sister.
Joyce worked for Littlewoods at Vine Mill, Oswaldtwistle.
She enjoyed doing crosswords and her knitting. She attended Great Harwood and Barnes Square Methodist Church.
Funeral service and cremation will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, January 7, at 11am led by the Rev Toby Webber.
