The Masked Singer fans are convinced they have already rumbled the identity of Spag Bol after just one performance. The hit ITV guessing game, which sees 12 new celebrities perform in bizzare costumes in a bid to keep their identities hidden, returned on Saturday night (January 4) with new judge Maya Jama joining Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan on the panel.
They were also joined by Sir Mo Farah for the first episode after it was revealed he was behind the ‘Giant Joel’ costume who appeared in the festive special. Spag Bol took to the stage for the first time to perform Geri Halliwell’s solo hit Look At Me, and fans weren’t convinced by what appeared to be a fake Italian accent as they delivered some clues.
They included the mention of the word ‘camp’, possibly hinting at a spell in the I’m A Celebrity jungle’, and the riddle: “Spag bol is delicious it has to be said, but spilled on the floor it scan stain it quite red.”

While the clues had the panel making tennis guesses, including Emma Raducanu and Judy Murray, viewers at home said it was obvious who was actually inside the costume.
They took to X, formerly Twitter, as they all said the voice was clearly that of a beloved daytime TV presenter. One wrote: “Spaghetti sounds like kate garroway.”
A second echoed: “Kate Garraway…even singing it sounds like her. #SpagBol #MaskedSingerUK.” A third wrote”#MaskedSingerUK Spag Bol is @kategarraway all day long???”
Another commented: “Spag Bol is 100% @kategarraway and no one will convince me otherwise!”, while a fifth agreed: “Kate Garraway has to be Spag Bol #MaskedSingerUK.”
Others believed it might be Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury inside the costume, or comedian Ruby Wax. Other guesses from viewers included 80s singer Toyah Wilcox, who just appeared in the last series of Strictly Come Dancing, and BBC presenter Louise Minchin.
