Zara McDermott and Sam Thomspon reportedly split weeks ago, it has been reported. The popular couple, who had been together for five years, have not spoken out since their break up was revealed on New Year’s Day.
Love Island star and documentary maker Zara has since jetted off to Paris in an effort to recover from the ‘tough’ split. The 28 year old TV star travelled to France with a friend soon after their break up was revealed.
Sources have disclosed that Zara, who rose to fame on Love Island, has already left the London apartment she shared with 32 year old Sam. An insider confided to The Sun on Sunday: “It’s been a tough time for Zara. The trip to Paris just helped her get away from it all.”

They added: “Zara just wants to try to focus on work and get herself together. They split some time before it officially emerged and she is now living apart from him.”
After five years together, Zara and Sam, residents of a West London flat, spent the festive season apart as their relationship dwindled. A source claimed: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them.”
“They still have a lot of love for each other. There has been no scandal or fallout, it’s just the result of a difficult year where they both spent a lot of time on their own projects.”
The couple were last seen together publicly during Zara’s birthday celebrations last month, where Sam affectionately referred to her as his “soulmate” in an online post, adding: “I’m afraid you’re stuck with me forever.”
