There is a high chance of rain in Liverpool today, according to the Met Office
Weather forecasters have predicted a wash-out in Liverpool tomorrow with high chances of rain. An amber weather warning for snow and freezing rain remains in place and disruption to transport and some other services is expected.
A yellow weather warning is also in place for heavy snow and some freezing rain in places. The warning will continue until midnight.
The warnings were issued on Thursday and Friday as the Met Office predicted snow and ice in most parts of the UK. Areas including Merseyside, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham were hit with both yellow and amber warnings,and most of Scotland has also been warned to expect snow and ice.
Warnings from the Met Office include:
- There is a good chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
- Travel delays on roads are likely, stranding some vehicles and passengers
- Some road closures and longer journey times possible
- Some delays and cancellations to bus, rail and air travel are likely
- There is a good chance that some rural communities could become cut off
- Untreated pavements and cycle paths likely to be impassable
