Ready for a trip down memory lane? Cast your eyes on 20 great photos found in our archives from 20 years ago. These pictures, taken by our photographers back in January, 2005, give a glimpse of what life was like in Wales back then.
Some of them show how much times have changed, such as the sight of people queuing around the block to buy tickets to see U2 in Cardiff from a box office, a departure from the headaches of Ticketmaster waits these days.
There was plenty of sporting success back then, and some classic retro football shirts on show, and we get to see the special effort staff made on the final day of the David Morgan department store.
Old school pictures form part of the gallery, along with an historic music concert, as 66,000 fans crammed inside Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, then known as the Millennium Stadium, to watch some of Britain’s biggest acts perform and raise money for the Tsunami relief fund. It was in response to an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.1 off the coast of Indonesia, which triggered a tsunami that killed more than 230,000 people.
