While there have been numerous Prides in Bristol since the late ‘70s, Bristol Pride has only been running in its current format since 2010. Now a staple of the city calendar, this coming year sees the 15th anniversary of the iconic LGBT+ celebration on Saturday, July 12 – and the first act has just been announced as an iconic noughties dance legend.

Cascada, known for hits like ‘Everytime We Touch’ and ‘Evacuate the Dancefloor’, will perform at the donation-only event on The Downs, which is basically like a free festival every year. The celebrated German act is just one of over 200 performers across five stages expected to perform, however.

With over 30 million albums sold worldwide, Cascada rose to international fame with hits like their cover of ‘Truly Madly Deeply’. Their infectious, uplifting tunes have made them a staple of LGBT+ spaces worldwide, with Cascada’s Bristol Pride 2025 performance promising a nostalgic yet euphoric trip that aligns with the festival’s inclusive spirit.

Daryn Carter MBE, Pride Director, said: “We always aim to bring a wide breadth of performers to Pride Day each year, and 2025’s edition is no exception. Cascada is guaranteed to bring nostalgia, fun and of course back-to-back bangers to crowds. This is just a taste of what’s to come so mark those diaries and get ready for more massive line-up announcements in the new year!”

Before the Pride festival, the Parade March will weave through the city centre to give a voice to the LGBT+ community and combat prejudice. It’s expected to start at the bandstand end of Castle Park, with the two-mile walking parade taking in Broadmead, the Old City and Harbourside. This will lead to The Downs where all the music is. Both are free to attend, but donations are actively encouraged upon entering the festival (a few quid will do).

More announcements of headliners and other musical acts will be revealed in early 2025. In addition to the extensive music line-up, Bristol Pride will offer a dynamic two-week programme featuring comedy, theatre, circus and sports events. This will start on Monday, June 28 and end on Saturday, July 12 with the Parade March and Pride Day festival and afterparties.

In the meantime, you can currently purchase a wristband from £9 for an enhanced festival experience – including fast-track entry, free bus travel, discounted food and drink and access to exclusive prize draws. Plus, upgraded wristband options include entry to afterparties and a “Super Supporter Area” with prime stage views and amenities. You can get yours by heading here.
