Motorists have been warned to brace themselves for stricter traffic regulations come January, as the council is set to gain new powers. Post-Christmas, Buckinghamshire Police will be launching 14 new enforcement cameras across the region as we venture further into 2025.
These cameras are specifically designed to deter moving traffic offences that cause disruptions on Buckinghamshire roads. They will capture instances of drivers disregarding no entry signs, making prohibited turns, entering yellow box junctions without a clear exit, or unlawfully using bus lanes, reports Birmingham Live.
Motorists caught violating these rules may face fines from the council. Councillor Steven Broadbent commented: “All 14 of these new camera locations were nominated by residents and businesses as trouble spots or recognised as being areas of low compliance where motorists are more likely to break moving traffic restrictions. Installing these enforcement cameras will help reinforce the rules of the road, keep traffic moving and make all road users safer.”
