The Met Office shared an interactive map on X showing the wintry showers moving down from Scotland and the west to cover much of England and Wales, bar the south coast.
“An icy start across much of the north and west of the UK Monday morning, with further rain, sleet and snow in places.
“Cloudy elsewhere, with outbreaks of rain. Surface water flooding may lead to difficult travelling conditions.”
It comes as a fresh yellow snow warning in southern England today.
It’s in place from 9am on Wednesday to midnight, with as much as 10cm expected to fall on higher ground.
Temperatures last night plummeted as low as to -13C making it the UK’s “coldest night of the winter so far”, according to the Met Office.
Meanwhile, today, hundreds of flood warnings and alerts have been issued.
The Environment Agency has also issued 166 flood warnings, meaning flooding is expected, and 299 alerts, meaning flooding is possible.
National Resources Wales issued three flood warnings and 34 alerts.
The thawing snow, combined with heavy rain, means fresh hazards for the start of the new week in some areas.

Further warnings for snow, ice and rain remain in place until this afternoon.
Dozens of schools in the north have had to close.
Deputy chief forecaster Mike Silverstone said: “The low pressure that brought the snow and heavy rain in the south will move out to the east by Monday.
“This will allow a cold northerly flow to become established again for much of next week.
“This will bring further sleet, snow and hail showers to northern Scotland in particular, but possibly to some other areas, especially near western coasts, with a fair amount of dry and bright weather elsewhere.”
He added: “Temperatures will remain below average, with widespread frost and the threat of ice at times.
“Some areas, especially in the north, may struggle to get above freezing for several days.”
Many local authorities are yet to decide on whether schools will be open, and must assess overnight’s snowfall in order to reach a call.
Families are advised to use the government’s tool – which collates such data – to find out if their school is open. You just need to enter your postcode in the toolbar here.
National Highways said several stretches of A-roads across England are closed because of snow, flooding or crashes.
While flooding and trees have also blocked various rail line.
And the snow has caused disruption to flights from several major airports, including Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool John Lennon and Newcastle.
However, all runways have all now been reopened.
