A swathe of flood warnings remain active in Gloucestershire and across the border in Worcestershire and Herefordshire today (Wednesday, January 8). Heavy rainfall and melting snow in recent bad weather has seen river levels rise.
No more rain is forecast in the coming days but rivers including the Severn, Avon and Wye are expected to remain high. A number of roads have been closed due to flooding.
Motorists have been urged not to risk driving through flood water. Fears of water on roads turning into ice prompted the closure of the A417 between the A46 at Brockworth/Shurdington to the Air Balloon roundabout at the top of Crickley Hill last night.
Below are the latest flood warnings from the Environment Agency – which mean flooding is expected, act now – affecting Gloucestershire and the wider region. This list was last updated at 6.40am.
