A Screwfix store was cordoned off after a car ploughed through the entrance of the building. Emergency services were called to Screwfix in the Tarran Way Industrial Estate in Moreton, Wirral, just after 2.05pm on Monday, December 30.
The driver, a man in his 80s, was assessed by a paramedic at the scene. No injuries were reported, police said. The man agreed to surrender his driving licence following the incident.
Pictures seen by the ECHO show a black Toyota car inside the entrance of Screwfix with a smashed glass panel on its roof. Several police cars and a fire engine attended the incident.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We were called just after 2.05pm to a report a black Toyota car driven by a man in his 80s had been driven into Screwfix, Tarran Way Industrial Estate in Moreton.

“No injuries have been reported. The driver was assessed by a paramedic and has agreed to surrender his driving licence.”
