Deep -5C freeze to hit Gloucestershire – how cold will it be where you live?

The mercury is set to tumble as low as -5C over the next 24 hours or so in Gloucestershire during a cold weather snap. Plunging temperatures mean some places will only just be above freezing during the daytime with all parts of the county due sub-zero temperatures overnight Wednesday (January 8) into Thursday.

The feels-like temperature will be even lower, down to -7C, as the county prepares to wrap up warm during the cold snap which will last into Friday before milder weather at the weekend. No snow is forecast locally although there could be some in the wider West Country overnight.

Flood warnings remain in force on rivers in and around the county, but no more rain is forecast. A number of roads are also closed or affected by flooding.

Below are the ‘highs’ and lows of temperatures from Wednesday morning to Thursday lunchtime. Forecast published at 6.50am on Wednesday from the Met Office.
