Firefighters tackled a huge blaze at a city recycling plant overnight. The inferno broke out in Landor Street, near Birmingham Wheels Park, at around 11pm last night, January 7.
Seven fire crews initially responded to the blaze which involved large scrap metal. Firefighters urged the public to avoid the area.
Locals – who reported a “bad smell” – were told to keep their windows closed due to “large amounts of smoke” billowing into the sky. Landor Street was closed in both directions and remains shut as of 7.40am today.
