The family of a North London man are desperate for his safe return after he went missing over 60 hours ago. Michael Nsonwu, 20, left without his phone wearing a red puffer jacket and grey joggers after an argument with his mum at their home on Abbotshall Avenue, Southgate, at around 5:30pm on Sunday (January 5), his sister told MyLondon.
Nina Nsonwu, 29, said her brother, also known as Mikey, had previously left the house for around an hour after arguments, but believes he has never gone missing before. Michael is currently studying at Southgate College and has autism, she added.
Though the Met have been unable to trace Michael using his phone, Nina said officers used CCTV footage to track Mikey on Morton Way and Hawthorn Avenue in Southgate, but lost track of him when he entered the North Circular (A406).
“Keep your eyes open,” Nina said, holding back tears, “It’s really hard. We just want him to come back. We just want to know he’s safe. I understand if he does not want to come back, but I just want to know he’s safe.”
Sharing a photo on X, a spokesperson for Enfield Met Police said: “This is Michael. Michael is currently missing. he was last seen in the Southgate/Arnos Grove area. he is wearing a distinctive red puffer coat with grey jogging bottoms. Please contact 101 Ref 01/7016105/25 if you have any information where Michael is.”
