It’s been more than three years since Harry and Meghan sat down for their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. And she made a telling 10-word remark following the news that Meghan has a new series coming to Netflix.
The Duchess of Sussex announced her new show, With Love, Meghan, on her newly-launched Instagram account with a trailer showing her performing various activities from choosing fresh flowers, harvesting honey, kneading homemade bread and working in the kitchen.
The streaming giant described the show in a press release as an “inspiring series” that “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old”.
A number of Meghan’s closest friends will appear in the series — which will air in eight 33-minute episodes — including Mindy Kaling and Meghan’s former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
Prince Harry to return to UK within days but without Meghan Markle
Following the announcement, chat show titan Oprah took to social media to show her support. She told her 3.4 million followers on @Oprahdaily: “We’re about to see more of Meghan Markle in 2025! The Duchess of Sussex announced she will have a new cooking show on Netflix. Tap the link in our bio to watch the trailer and find out when you can tune in. (It’s sooner than you think!).”
Oprah’s post received mixed replies from her fans. While some showed their support for Meghan, others admitted they would not be tuning in.
One wrote: “I’m happy she’s doing her life on her own terms. Just curious, someone who madly wanted privacy and retreating from the world’s eyes opening her IFG account and then a cooking show. Why? Trying to understand her. Imagine Princess Di fighting for her privacy, starting a cooking show on Netflix.”
A second said: “Oprah what is your involvement with MM? You are so invested in this young woman. What has she done to earn such support from the all-mighty Oprah Winfrey empire? I’m sure there are many underfunded young women entrepreneurs that would love your support and financial backing.”

But a third commented: “Can’t wait to watch it. Love Meghan, she is an inspiration to many.”
It comes at a difficult time for Meghan who announced on Tuesday that rescue dog Guy has passed away . She had adopted him in 2015 when she lived in Canada .
Announcing the loss on her Instagram account, Meghan said in part: “In Memory of Guy. In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up….and fell in love.
“They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy’. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”
She continued: “I have cried too many tears to count – the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too.
“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know.”
