Linda De Sousa Abreu has been sentenced to 15 months behind bars after being caught having sex with an inmate.
A recording of the prison officer, 34, went viral online – showing her engaging in sexual activity with a prisoner in a cell while other jailmates looked on at HMP Wandsworth, South London. The mother-of-one, from Fulham, South West London, was arrested and pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office at Isleworth Crown Court in July last year.
Returning to the court on Monday, she was told she would serve half her time in custody and the rest on licence. It has now been reported that she is locked up at high-profile women’s prison, HMP Bonzefield, which also houses baby serial killer Lucy Letby and killer mum Sian Hedges.

De Sousa Abreu will also be rubbing shoulders with Sara Sharif’s evil stepmum Beinash Batool – who was sentenced just last month to life with a minimum term of 33 years for the murder of the 10-year-old little girl. According to The Sun, the former Wandsworth prison officer will reside at House Block 4 – which is reserved for those serving long life sentences as well as prisoners who have enhanced status due to good behaviour.
Some of the most prolific female killers, who often have a target on their heads due to the nature of their heinous crimes, are reportedly kept in cushy cells on the close-knit wing to protect them from the rest of the prison population. A source told The Sun: “They get more space, a private courtyard, and all the cells have bigger beds with showers inside the room.
“They spend so much time there together. They all eat together unless they choose to eat in their cell on their own.” Last month, a source told the Mirror how Batool spends hours chatting and playing cards with 34-year-old Letby.
They became pals after the stepmum was placed on remand at the same secure wing where serial baby murderer Letby is being held for her own protection. The insider said: “Beinash and Lucy live on the same wing with all the other lifers. They hang out on the landing together most days, playing cards and chatting.
“The child killers always stick together because they want to protect themselves, so it doesn’t surprise me in the least that they get along so well.” As well as Letby, Batool is tight with convicted murderer Michelle Smith, who poisoned six-month-old daughter Amy with adult painkillers in Swansea in 2007.

And Sharon Carr – who became Britain’s youngest female murderer aged 12 when she knifed 18-year-old Katie Rackliff 30 times in a random attack in Camberley, Surrey, in 1992 – is a pal. Our source at the Category A jail near Ashford, Surrey, added: “Beinash is also friends with Michelle and Sharon. They all live in house block four which is a really nice wing.
“They have privileges like their own room with an en suite shower, bigger beds and access to a private courtyard. It’s like you’re wrapped in cotton wool so there’s no risk of being attacked or anything like that.”
Sentencing De Sousa Abreu, Judge Martin Edmunds KC said: “You engaged in sexual activity with a prisoner. That compromised your role as an officer, and was misconduct which undermines discipline within the prison, and puts fellow officers at increased risk. You knew that conduct was forbidden and forbidden for good reason.”
The bombshell court case heard how the prison officer agreed to take part in sexual activity with Linton Weirich in his cell on June 25 last year, with a second prisoner filming it while appearing to smoke cannabis. That prisoner sent the video to a friend who shared it on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Suggesting that it wasn’t an isolated incident, De Sousa Abreu also asked Judge Edmunds to consider two further offences – one being sexual activity with the same prisoner earlier that day and the other being a separate sexual encounter with Weirich within at least three to four days of the main offence.
Furthermore, once the footage appeared online, the court heard how her fellow female officers were bombarded with abuse and sexual propositions from other inmates. Victim impact statements from the employees said they were seen as ‘fair game’ because of De Sousa Abreu’s actions and that their children have been subjected to teasing at school over what their mothers may do at work.
The Ministry of Justice and private firm Sodexo, which runs Bronzefield jail, declined to comment.
