ITV Lorraine thrown into chaos as woman halts show to ask for selfie

Wednesday morning’s Lorraine show became unexpectedly lively when a member of the public interrupted the live segment. The incident occurred as Scottish host Lorraine Kelly switched to Andi Peters, who was reporting from Glasgow, talking about the latest competition on ITV.

During the outside broadcast, someone cheekily honked a car horn while Andi quipped he was “big in Glasgow”. His popularity was evidenced by a woman approaching him for a photo, oblivious to the live filming.

With his usual charm, Andi responded: “Yes, it is me, Andi Peters. I would take a picture, but we are live on the telly, madam. Do carry on!” The forward lady, undeterred by the ongoing broadcast, requested a selfie.

Andi initially declined, citing time constraints: “You can have a selfie but later, I’m running out of time! Sorry I’ve got to-” However, in a swift turn, Andi ultimately gave in and photographed with her.

Back in the studio, Lorraine found the scene hilarious as she prepared to chat with Strictly’s Pete Wicks. Learning that the woman’s name was Fiona, Andi playfully inquired if she was a fan of Lorraine’s show, leading to an awkward moment, reports the Daily Record.

Fiona admitted: “Well, no, because I work! I can’t watch Lorraine.” To which Andi half-joked: “No, don’t say that because Lorraine is right there!”

Realisation dawned on Fiona as she grasped she was speaking directly to Lorraine via camera. Eagerly waving, she backtracked: “I love Lorraine!”

After their amusing exchange, a chuckling Andi nudged her out of shot as he playfully remarked: “Sorry about that Lorraine, she said she works, it’s not a very valid excuse, I mean really! Whatever, Fiona, I want that picture back!”

The show then returned to the studio where a still-giggling Lorraine exclaimed to viewers: “Good luck to you, I love Glasgow!”

Continuing with the jovial atmosphere, Lorraine next chatted with Pete Wicks about his new television programme, Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake.

This endearing series will follow the Strictly celebrity as he dedicates himself to dog rescue efforts at Basildon’s Dogs Trust rehoming centre.

Lorraine continues weekdays on ITV from 9am.
