Controversial ex-SAS TV presenter Ant Middleton makes bid to be London Mayor

Controversial TV Presenter Ant Middleton has said he wants to be London Mayor and plans to ‘cleanse’ London. The former SAS: Who Dares Wins presenter, 44, who served in the SBS in Afghanistan said “Britain is rotting from its core” in a series of posts on X.

The TV hardman is a Reform Party supporter and took to X to post about his dissatisfaction with the Labour government and London Mayor Sadiq Khan. He wrote: “Kier Starmer has got to go and whilst all of this is happening Britain is rotting from its core. I’m not hearing much from Sadiq Khan who also in my opinion has to go! If Britain replaces the current MP & Major of London, it may just stand a chance.”

Middleton was sacked from his job as presenter of TV show SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2021 after a series of controversial tweets. He now lives in Dubai after moving there three years ago after he claims his voice was “silenced here in the UK”, GB News reported. He said: “I don’t agree with the culture and when I do not agree with the layout of the land, then I’m gone.”

He posted on X: “I’ll come back to the UK but switching TV for Politics! There’s a storm brewing and we all know that I love a storm”

Replying to his posts condemning the PM and London Mayor, one X user took issue with the use of the word ‘cleanse’. They wrote: “Cleanse? Ethnically? Is that what you mean, Ant?”

He clarified what he meant in a reply, saying: “Nice try, but highly predictable! Priority number one; Cleanse it from being one of the murder capitals of the world. Cleanse it from knives, machetes and guns that are not only killing UK citizens but also our children.

“Cleanse it from minors & women being harassed and abused. Cleanse its roads from illegal vehicles (and drivers) that are being used to commit countless crimes on a daily basis. Cleanse it from the ridiculous charges that it imposes on an already heavily taxed country. Cleanse the tube, public transport and streets, they’re disgusting for a capital city.”

Figures from Statista show seven out of the 10 most dangerous cities in terms of murder rate are in Mexico and none in the UK. Research published in October revealed that more than eight in 10 young women aged 16-34 have experienced at least one form of sexual harassment or assault in a public space in London in the last two years.

Figures published by The Spectator from a Freedom of Information request submitted to Scotland Yard show almost 24,000 stolen vehicles were logged in London in 2023.
