A British-Belgian detective drama will premiere on our screens this week and you won’t have to wait long. Patience follows the tale of an autistic archivist teaming up with a detective to solve crimes.
The drama was created by Matt Baker, who is best known the period drama Hotel Portofino and crime drama Professor T. Patience is based on Franco-Belgian detective show Astrid: Murder in Paris which follows a similar plotline.

What is the plot of Patience?
In a synopsis, Channel 4 said: “Intriguing crime drama set in York with Laura Fraser and Ella Maisy Purvis. Talented autistic archivist Patience enters an unpredictable world when detective Bea spots her unique crime-solving skills.”

How many episodes are there of Patience?
There are six episodes planned in the first season of Patience. But if you become a fan of the show, PBS announced that the series has been renewed for a second season. The drama will begin on January 8 at 9pm and continue on January 9 at 9pm. The third episode will then run on January 16.
Who is in the cast of Patience?
Breaking Bad’s Laura Fraser stars in the lead role as Detective Inspector Bea Metcalf. Ella May Purvis, Deepak Verma and Mark Benton are among the other names listed in the mystery drama.

Set in York, Patience was filmed across major locations in the city. Areas such as York Minster and Monkgate are featured as well as a number of scenes taking place in Belgium.
