Liam Payne autopsy uncovers devastating ‘twist’ about his final moments

Liam Payne’s autopsy managed to uncover a heartbreaking twist about the singer’s final moments. Payne, aged 31, died in mid-October in the wake of travelling the Argentina to see One Direction and ITV The X Factor co-star Niall Horan’s gig in South America.

An initial hearing in Argentina, where Payne died in Buenos Aires at the Casa Sur hotel in Palermo, heard about Payne’s final moments, suggesting he failed to break his fall from a third-floor balcony because he may have been unconscious.

Liam fell 40ft from his hotel room and “did not adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself in the fall, so that, for the moment, it can be inferred that he may have fallen in a state of semi – or total unconsciousness,” the report said.

Forensics found “the 25 injuries described in the autopsy are compatible with those caused by a fall from a height.” They went on to state that Liam had no “defensive type” injuries and that the wounds were “vital and produced at the same time as each other”.

It was therefore concluded that “the intervention of third parties would be ruled out”. Liam, who was laid to rest in December, hadn’t been fully conscious or was “in a state of noticeable decrease or abolition of consciousness”.

The investigators went on and said: “For the prosecution, this situation would also rule out the possibility of a conscious or voluntary act on the part of the victim since, in the state he was in, he did not know what he was doing and could not understand it.”

Three people have been charged with manslaughter, and two others with drug supply, in connection with the death of the 31-year-old. Argentina’s public prosecutions ministry confirmed on Monday that three people had been charged with manslaughter, specifically the charge of negligent homicide.
