Viewers of Bargain Hunt were met with dismay as the show featured yet another disheartening loss.
The beloved BBC programme graced television screens on Wednesday (January 8), presenting an episode filled with tension, with Charlie Ross steering the ship.
Antique experts Caroline Hawley and David Harper teamed up with Charles to guide the red team, comprising mother and daughter Sarah and Zara, against the blue team, father and son Richard and Mattie.
Filmed in the heart of Newark-on-Trent, the episode kicked off with high hopes as the two teams embarked on their quest to outdo each other in the antique reselling challenge.

However, as the show progressed and the teams selected their three auction items aiming for profit, the situation took a turn for the worse, reports the Express.
The red team, under Caroline’s expertise, faced defeat at the auction with their chosen pieces. Adding to their woes, a solid silver table stick, purchased by Caroline for £70, fetched a mere £50 at auction.
Ending with a total deficit of -£129, host Charles offered words of consolation to the duo, reminding them that such a loss had once been enough to win.

The blue team didn’t fare much better, ending with a loss of -£35, prompting Charles to describe the outcome as a “sumptuous” loss.
Disenchanted fans took to X, previously known as Twitter, to voice their discontent, with one viewer remarking: “That was underwhelming.” Another remarked: “That’s not a result.”

A third commented: “Think that’s a rare bonus buy that doesn’t make a profit.” One more viewer criticised the experts, stating: “Hopeless pair of experts.”
However, viewers weren’t just irked by the show’s content. The fact that the episode was a repeat, presumably from the coronavirus era, also drew criticism.
A viewer voiced their annoyance by saying: “Not another one of these stupid COVID/Social distancing episodes.” Echoing this frustration, another added: “Another f*****g covid repeat…. How many of these shows did they film ffs.”
