Lego teams up with hugely popular TV show as parents reckon they’ll enjoy it more than their kids

Parents have announced their excitement as LEGO has teamed up with children’s TV show Bluey to create a series of sets appearing in stores later this year.

The LEGO Group and BBC Studios announced the new partnership today (January 9) to bring the Bluey characters to brick form for the first time. Six new LEGO Bluey sets are expected to appear on shelves by June across the LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO range, all inspired by the animated TV series.

The immensely popular Australian-made show follows Bluey, a Blue Heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo. It’s proved a global sensation with many parents celebrating the show for depictions of real family life and tackling tough subjects.

Parents took to X to share their excitement for the Lego sets. One said: “Yes! I’ll probably enjoy this more than my kids,” with another saying: “OMG no way.” In December 2024 it was announced that Disney will be releasing the first feature film of the series with it expected to land in cinemas in 2027.

Michaela Edgerley Stovicek, head of preschool at the LEGO Group, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to bring together the worlds of LEGO Play and Bluey with the team at BBC Studios. It’s been a long time coming and we believe that this partnership is a match made in heaven for younger builders and families alike.

Bluey was 2024’s most-watched series globally on Disney+ and holds the number one kids show spot on ABC Australia and CBeebies and Disney+ in the UK. Additionally, Bluey is the #1kids show on Disney Jr in Canada, Spain, Portugal, Poland and South Africa.
