Tamworth man charged with knife and drug offences after stop-and-search

A man from Tamworth has been charged with weapon and drug offences after a stop-and-search in the town. Staffordshire Police officers carried out the stop-and-search in Beyer Close in Glascote on Tuesday (January 7).

They recovered a number of bags of cannabis and a keychain knife. They then went on to search a property in Bolehall. There they found more cannabis and another knife.

Corrie Plaskitt of Edale in Stonydelph has been charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a ‘sharp-pointed article’.

In a statement a spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “A man has been charged with weapon and drug offences following a proactive stop-and-search in Tamworth. Corrie Plaskitt, of Tamworth, has been charged with possessing a knife or sharp-pointed article in a public place and possessing a controlled drug of class B (cannabis).

“It comes after we carried out a stop-and-search on Beyer Close in Glascote at 4pm on Tuesday (7 January). Multiple bags of cannabis and a keychain knife were discovered. A further search of an address in Bolehall found more cannabis and a knife.

“Plaskitt has been recalled to prison and is due to appear at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 January.”
