Man head-butted and punched in Cheltenham nightclub attack

A man was attacked in a nightclub in Cheltenham and suffered injuries which required surgery. Police are investigating the assault, which took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024 and have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

Officers were called to a nightclub on Regent Street in Cheltenham around 12.50am, where a man was head-butted and punched. The victim suffered facial injuries which required surgery, police have said.

Investigating officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify in relation to the incident. Anyone who has information is asked to contact police on this form, quoting the reference number 29 of November 17.

The man police would like to speak to was seen wearing a light blue, long sleeved shirt. He also had short, grey hair.

A statement from Gloucestershire Police said: “Officers investigating an assault at a Cheltenham nightclub have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

“Police were called with a report that a man had head-butted and punched another man causing facial injuries which required surgery.

“The assault took place at a venue on Regent Street at around 12.50am on Sunday 17 November.

“Officers have conducted a number of enquiries since the incident, but are yet to identify the man pictured, and are now asking for information from the public.

“Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has information about what happened is asked to complete the following online form quoting incident 29 of 17 November: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/.”
