This Morning's Nadine Baggott praises face cream ‘20 times more powerful than retinol’

We love expert recommendations when it comes to finding skincare that really works, and here’s an anti-ageing night cream that even made it on to primetime TV.

On a recent episode of ITV’s This Morning, beauty expert and influencer Nadine Baggott discussed her top beauty trends for 2025. In the segment she highlighted The Skin Diary’s Night Repair Therapy, a skin-renewing night cream that Nadine said was “20 times [more] powerful than retinol and outperforms prescription grade tretinoin”.

This smart £135 moisturiser doesn’t just get the seal of approval from influencers but as dermatologists, as it was developed in collaboration with leading consultant dermatologist Professor Chris Griffiths OBE, the brains behind Boots’ No7 anti-ageing products.

The hero ingredients that make this formula so effective on signs of skin ageing such as fine lines and sagging include bilberry extract, retinyl palmitate, niacinamide and cell-communicating peptides, benefitting the skin in three ways: by protects, rebuilding and restoring skin cells.

And The Skin Diary’s tests showing that it outperforms even prescription strength retinoids. These tests also showed a 200% increase in elastic fibres and a 100% increase in collagen after three months, with no reported irritation. This means that it could be an excellent alternative for anyone who has previously found other vitamin A derivatives to be too irritating on their skin.

Clearly it has piqued shoppers’ interested too, as The Skin Diary has reported searches for this hero product soared by 5,000 after it was shown on TV.

At £135 it’s obviously fairly pricey, but new customers can save 10% when the sign up to The Skin Diary’s newsletters.

This isn’t the first time that Nadine’s skincare recommendations have hit the spot. Back in December, she called The Inkey List’s Bio-Active Ceramide Enriched Moisturiser, £19, “absolutely brilliant” and “perfect for winter skin”. Singing its praises to Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, she added: “It’s my favourite launch of the year.”

The ITV regular isn’t the only one heaping praise on this £19 beauty wonder. On The Inkey List’s website, the moisturiser has received more than 800 five-star ratings from impressed skincare fans, many of who claim to have noticed results after just a few uses.

One customer, called Helen, said: “LOVE!!! Not only has it brightened my skin but it feels much more hydrated and plump which is a huge benefit for me during the winter! I really love the perfume free smell, I have sensitive skin so again…big bonus for me!”

Earlier in the year, meanwhile, Nadine also revealed to us that she’s a long-term fan of this Medik8 product.

If you’re looking for more retinoids or retinol alternative suitable for sensitive skin, we’re a few of many who also love Elizabeth Arden Retinol + HPR Ceramide Rapid Skin Renewing Water Cream, £75, and Medik8’s Bakuchiol Peptides Retinol Alternative Peptide-Infused Serum, £55.
