The 8 Bromley restaurants, cafes and takeaways with new food hygiene ratings

Bromley residents looking to tuck into a takeaway tonight or this weekend may want to take heed of the latest recommendations from the Food Standards Agency before making their decision.

Eight establishments in Bromley have been awarded new food hygiene ratings, according to the Food Standards Agency’s website – and it’s all positive news. The most recent food hygiene ratings on the list were published on Wednesday, January 8.

While Food hygiene ratings don’t describe the quality or taste of the food, they are still a solid indication of whether a restaurant is up to the required standard. The cleanliness of the food preparation environment is taken into account, as well as how food is stored and whether there are any health and safety hazards.

The following restaurants and cafes received 5-star ratings: Firin at 179 High Street, Penge, Starbucks Coffee at 25 Market Square, Bromley, and Cafe Giardino at 251 – 252 The Glades Shopping Centre, High Street, Bromley.

Graces Bar & Grill at 1 Witham Road, Penge, Zizzi / Coco Di Mama at 157 High Street, Beckenham and Miso Noodle Bar at 10 East Street also came away with five-star ratings. Additionally, two takeaways also received a rating of 5: Wok & Roll at 72 Croydon Road, West Wickham and Sweet Jerk at 256 – 258 High Street, Beckenham.

You can search for food hygiene ratings on the Food Standard Agency’s website. Alternatively, takeaway apps including Just Eat and Deliveroo allow users to filter by hygiene rating too.
