UK weather maps show when 72 hour big freeze will finally end in Wales

It has been a brutal week of freezing cold weather, ice and snow and now Met Office weather maps have shown how cold it will get this weekend as temperatures once again hit -5C in some areas on Friday. Despite the cold weather snap, it is set to get a little warmer through the weekend, especially on Sunday, January 12.

Expect lows of -3C in some areas of Wales on Saturday morning, January 11, but it will get slightly warmer as the day goes on, the forecast predicts. Temperatures have been low, in particular on Friday morning, which coincided with another weather warning for ice.

With that in mind, we’ve taken a look at the weather maps to see where it will be at its coldest and when it is set to be a bit warmer again. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.
