Coronation Street’s Luca Toolan could be set for a stint on a rival soap following his shock cobbles exit.
Actor Luca shot to fame playing bully Mason Radcliffe on the ITV soap – making his debut back in 2023. And it didn’t take him long to cause plenty of drama on the cobbles.
Viewers of the soap were left horrified as they watched him terrorise Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) young son, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall), so much so, that Liam even thought about taking his life.
Mason was eventually sent to a Young Offenders centre for threatening Liam with a knife. However, he was later released and back on the cobbles – determined to turn his life around, and get away from his violent family – including brothers Logan (Harry Lowbridge) and Matty (Seamus McGoff).

This week though, things took a horrifying turn when Mason’s brothers hunted him down. Tragedy struck as Matty and Logan ended up stabbing him with Dylan Wilson’s (Liam McCheyne) zombie knife.
Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) – whose own son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) tragically died after being attacked back in 2021 – desperately tried to save him.
As the ambulance arrived Mason was rushed to hospital. However, it was soon revealed that Mason had tragically died with the cobbles left reeling over the devastating news.

Now, following Mason actor Luca’s soap exit, it seems a stint on a rival soap could just be around the corner. In exclusive odds provided by Betway, the bookies have chalked up Luca at 20/1 to bag a role on BBC’s EastEnders.
For an appearance on Emmerdale, the odds are 25/1. While a stint on a really show, like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing has odds of 4/1.
What’s more, speaking to Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo, the expert told us that following his soap exit, Luca “is primed for exciting opportunities”.

“A move to another soap seems like a natural step. His skill in playing multi-layered roles could make him a strong fit for EastEnders, where he could bring his intensity to the Mitchells,” the expert said.
He added: “Similarly, Hollyoaks offers the chance to explore fast-paced, action-driven storylines that would highlight his versatility.”
But it’s not just soaps that Luca could appear in next. Dom explained: “Luca’s commanding presence and emotional range make him a strong contender for roles in crime dramas, thrillers, or period pieces, where complex characters take centre stage.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
