A savvy woman has shared how she managed to pocket £800 over the festive period by simply hanging out with cats. Cat enthusiast Liv makes a tidy sum by offering cat sitting services, which involve her visiting people’s homes for 30 to 60 minutes each day.
During these visits, she checks on the cats, feeds them and gives them some love and attention if they’re up for it. On her @livscatisland account, she detailed her December earnings and introduced the adorable cats she cared for.
First was Tiger, whose owners were away for two weeks, earning her £240 for her visits. She noted: “He is an observant boy and only wanted feeding.”

Next was Tuppence, who required snacks and attention over three days (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) while his owners were away. For this service, Liv charged £102, double her usual rate due to the holiday period. She also visited Lily four times over the festive season, earning £84, while two weeks of visits to Max earned her £247, and New Year check-ups on Thomas brought in another £84.
Lastly, she looked after Henry for a few days, adding another £84 to her kitty. Liv expressed her love for her cat sitting job and recommended it to anyone looking to earn some extra cash.
She posted: “Still thinking about cat sitting. This is your sign.”
Her post seemed to inspire many cat lovers, with one commenting: “I love cats more than people.”

Liv offered some advice to those interested in pursuing this line of work, stating: “Meet & greets are always needed in this job. “So meeting the customers & cats before your visits start. .
“During the meet & greet you make it clear who you are, and be open to any questions if customers ask. “Be mouldable to their requests. .
“For example, I offer to clean the customers’ home, water flowers, take bins out at no additional cost. “Cats are messy so it’s ideal to make an effort in the customer’s home. “.
