Forecasters have predicted snowfall to blanket parts of the Midlands region today. It comes as the UK Health Security Agency issued a rare Amber cold health alert for the West Midlands.
Weather maps from WX Charts reveals a band of snow falling over the region at 9pm today, January 11. Snow is forecasted for parts of the Black Country, Staffordshire and Shropshire. However Birmingham and other parts of the West Midlands could expect the snow.
The highest amount of snow could fall over Staffordshire and Shropshire, to the northwest of Birmingham. According to wxcharts.com, there could be up to 3.38cm (1.3in) of snow here at 9pm.

The band of snow extends up to Cheshire and down into Worcestershire. Meanwhile, WX Charts revealed the coldest temperatures taking place early on Saturday, dipping to -2C in parts of the West Midlands region.
The Met Office has forecasted for temperatures to hover around -0C up until 1pm in Birmingham, before slightly increasing to 1C into the night and Sunday morning (January 12). However the temperature will feel more like -1C or -2C in places, the Met Office said.

Meanwhile, an Amber cold health alert is in place for the West Midlands region. This health alert, issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), warns of the potential for large impacts on the health service.
The UKHSA warned the cold weather could cause an increase in deaths, particularly among households aged 65 and over with health conditions. A total of nine regions in England have been issued with an Amber alert.
