Teenager seriously injured in Brislington street attack

A teenager suffered serious injuries in an attack in Brislington last night. A police cordon was put in place outside Lindo Guitars on Broomhill Road.

Avon and Somerset Police said the victim, aged 16 and from Bath, was assaulted by a group of people near Corston Post Office and village store at about 10.30pm. The force were called at around 11pm (Friday, January 10) and the boy was found on Broomhill Road at around 12.30am this morning (January 11).

He was rushed to hospital with a serious injury, which is not life-threatening. Officers are now investigating the attack, which they believe was targeted.

Detective Inspector Stuart Newsham said: “We’re still in the very early stages of our investigation and we’re very keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from Meadlands between 10 and 11pm, or of Broomhill Road between 11.30pm on Friday and 1am on Saturday.

“If you saw or have footage of anything which could be relevant, or any other information which could help, please call 101 and give the reference 5225008326.”

Avon and Somerset Police added: “Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously by calling 0800 555 111, or online here.”
