Amanda Holden says ‘I can’t believe’ as she weighs in on Ruth and Eamonn’s divorce

Amanda Holden has expressed her sorrow over the breakup of her former This Morning colleagues Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes. The television pair’s split after 14 years together shocked fans in May.

Now, as they navigate their divorce, Loose Women star Ruth is reportedly looking forward to “life after divorce” with anticipation. A source told Heat Magazine that Ruth, 64, is eager to be “a free woman” and plans to throw a party to celebrate the finalisation of the end of their marriage.

On Heart Radio, Amanda responded to the reports: “I love both of them, I love Ruth, I love Eamonn, I can’t believe this has happened. It’s like so sad for everyone I think.”

Her co-host Ashley Roberts added: “It’s like mum and dad has broken up to everybody.” Amanda also praised Ruth’s party-throwing skills, suggesting it’ll be quite the event if she does decide to throw a party.

There are rumours that the couple wanted to finalise their divorce quickly for a fresh start in the new year. Since the split made headlines, Ruth has been going solo while Eamonn, 65, has found new love with Katie Alexander, 42.

It had been claimed that Ruth and Eamonn parted ways after she found messages between him and another woman. A source told The Sun: “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages.

“She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated. Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”

Ruth and Eamonn, who both formerly presented This Morning, have one son named Jack, born in 2002. Eamonn also has three other children from previous relationships.
