Woman shares three tips that helped her lose 15 pounds in just three months

A woman revealed her secret to shedding just over a stone in three months. Natalie Arnell dropped from 171 pounds (12 stone two lbs) to 156 pounds (11 stone one pound) by taking on the ’75 Hard’ challenge, devised by YouTuber, entrepreneur, bestselling author, and public speaker Andy Frisella.

The challenge includes exercising twice daily for 45 minutes, with at least one session outdoors. Natalie has been sharing her weight loss journey on TikTok, posting videos about her lifestyle changes and diet.

In one video, she shared her top three tips after losing over a stone, captioning it: “Three weight loss tips from a gal who lost 15 lbs in three months.”

  • Make healthier versions of your favourite food at home – you control the quality of ingredients this way.
  • Cut down on alcohol consumption – alcohol is really high in calories and most people don’t just stop at one drink.
  • At least 30 minutes of movement daily – do not underestimate the power of walking every day.

In another clip, Natalie offered advice on “things to avoid” for those aiming to lose between ten to 20 lbs and maintain their weight. She recommended cutting out ‘unhealthy’ food groups, trying juice cleanses and limiting alcohol consumption, reports Gloucestershire Live.

The NHS also provides tips for healthy weight loss and things to avoid, including:

Top NHS tips for losing weight healthily:

  • Get active for 150 minutes a week – you can break this up into shorter sessions
  • Aim to get your five-a-day – 80g of fresh, canned or frozen fruit or vegetables count as 1 portion
  • Aim to lose one to two lbs, or 0.5 to 1kg, a week
  • Read food labels – products with more green colour coding than amber and red are often a healthier option
  • Swap sugary drinks for water – if you do not like the taste, add slices of lemon or lime for flavour
  • Cut down on food that’s high in sugar and fat – start by swapping sugary cereal for wholegrain alternatives
  • Share your weight loss plan with someone you trust – they can help motivate you when you have a bad day

Things NHS says you should avoid:

  • Do not lose weight suddenly with diets
  • Do not stock unhealthy food – popcorn, fruit and rice cakes can be healthier alternatives
  • Do not skip meals – you might end up snacking more because you feel hungry
  • Do not finish your plate if you’re full – you can save leftover food for the next day

Another TikTok user, Emma Logsdon, has captured attention for scaling down dress sizes following a starting weight of 215lbs (fifteen stone four pounds). By adopting a consistent exercise regime, enhancing her diet, and eventually taking on bodybuilding training, she shed an impressive six stone.

In attributing part of her transformation to a specific “daily lunch” that only takes a “matter of minutes to make”, Emma discussed the quick and affordable meal in a TikTok clip: “Two minute lunch. 40g protein only $1.70 (£1.38).”

Describing her method, she said, “First thing’s first, grab a big old bowl because we’re just going to be throwing a bunch of stuff in here. So you’re going to take your big bowl and you’re gonna set it on your food scale, tear it out, and you’re gonna add 110g of plain white rice, jasmine rice.”

Emma highlighted that she pre-cooked several servings of rice for convenience, so when preparing the dish, it simply requires warming up. She then threw in 81g of green beans.

Em stressed that with ingredients ready to go, the process is straightforward – just microwaving everything together for about a minute. She topped off her meal with avocado.
