A body has been found in search of a missing Midlands man. Gary Wheeler, aged 55, was reported missing on Friday, January 10.
West Mercia Police announced yesterday evening (January 11) that a body had been found in the search for Mr Wheeler, who was from the Hinstock area of Market Drayton. Although formal identification hasn’t taken place yet, his next of kin have been informed.
West Mercia Police is not treating the death as suspicious. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “Sadly, a body has been found in the search for Gary Wheeler, who was reported missing yesterday (Friday 10 January).

“Whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, it is believed to be that of Gary and his next of kin have been informed. Officers are not treating the death as suspicious. Gary’s family have shared their gratitude to everyone who helped in the search and shared our appeal.”
West Mercia Search and Rescue said on Facebook: “We have some very news to report following on from yesterday’s callout in Hinstock. A body was located by our volunteers and a respectful recovery took place.
“Although no formal identification has taken place, it is believed to be the body of Gary Wheeler, who was reported missing. The thoughts of the team go out to the family, friends and the community of Hinstock at this very difficult time.”
